Kelly Benzin, LMSW (she/they)

I deeply understand how pivotal relationships are to the human experience. From our earliest connections to the ones we form as adults, the relationships we have shape not only our patterns of interaction but also how we show up in the world. Whether parental, platonic, romantic, or sexual, these connections help us grow—but sometimes they also create obstacles that prevent us from living fully as we aspire. My goal as a therapist is to help individuals process how their relational experiences have influenced their lives and support others in creating healthier, more fulfilling connections.

Over my 10+ years as a mental health provider, I’ve developed a passion for interventions that focus on relationship dynamics. This focus has naturally led me into the field of sex therapy, a journey I am continuing through the University of Michigan Sexual Health Certificate program, which I will begin in April 2026 and complete in Fall 2027.

My specialization lies in supporting folks navigating polyamorous and consensually non-monogamous relationships. Whether working with dyads, polycules, or individuals, I find it deeply rewarding to help people explore, understand, and grow within these relational structures.

I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for members of the LGBTQIA+ community, the kink community, and anyone whose relationships exist outside heteronormative or mono-normative frameworks. As a trauma certified therapist, I also work with those who have experienced relational trauma including intimate partner violence, sexual trauma, and patterns of insecure attachment.

If you want to improve your interpersonal relationships, I’m here to help, with compassion, curiosity, and maybe a little humor along the way.
